A circular walk from Hassocks railway station (meet at the western side of the railway tracks where the train arrives from Brighton), heading west towards Hurstpierpoint College, then north towards Burgess Hill before a right turn and heading to the Burgess Hill water tower near Ockley Lane.
We will have a comfort break here, then start out again towards Ditchling Common, before turning south and walking across farm land to Macs Farm and onto Ditchling, where we will stop for lunch and then walk back via Oldland Windmill, to finish at The Hassocks pub for refreshment (recovery)!
The leader has requested no dogs on this walk as lots of livestock (herds of cows) in the fields.
Catch the 10.09 train from Brighton which arrives in Hassocks at 10.17. Paid parking available in the station car park, or in streets nearby.
If you can, please RSVP to this walk via our Meetup site. This will give the walk leader a rough idea of how many people may be attending. If you are a paid up member of the Ramblers organisation, you can ignore any waitlist you may find yourself on.
We don't ask you to pay to join us on your first three walks. Afterwards, in order to continue walking with our group, you must become a paid-up member of the Ramblers. Click here (https://www.ramblers.org.uk/membership) to apply. The cost is very reasonable and there are also other benefits. Please then bring your membership card with you.
