Our walk takes us past the church at Hedgerley and along a shady tracks northwards towards Manor farm and then eastward ever closer to the M40 motorway. Along the edges of Leith Grove our proximity to the motorway peaks at Low Farm. We then move in a more southerly direction to arrive in the pretty village of Fulmer where we will stop for lunch. There are plenty of benches outside the village hall and in the church yard. There is also a Gold post box in the village- come along to find out who it is for. From Fulmer we enter Stoke Common, very reminiscent of the New forest with its gorse, heather and ferns and an area of special scientific interest. Cows do graze freely here but they move around so it is pot luck if we see them. We leave Stoke Common and head back to Hedgerley through some enclosed paths and then around the reservoir and back along fields and woods to our start. No stiles!
Some paths are uneven with tree roots so sturdy footwear and poles if you use them will be helpful.
Bring a packed lunch and plenty of water.
