Overview

Hello Everyone

We're walking directly from our base at Hednesford this Sunday. Leaders Pam & Barry are local residents and know every footpath and track for miles around, so who better to conduct us on a lovely walk that takes in the rolling countryside to the east before returning to back Hednesford. This is a Moderate grade event so some lumpy bits, some flat bits, mostly on good paths & tracks. No stiles but a few fallen trees to negotiate - they're more fun anyway!

As ever, you're very welcome to join us. Great if you're new to the group and can let us know you're coming along a day or two beforehand. Thank you.

Registration: 09.45.  Walk start: 10.00. Walk leaders: Barry & Pam (07443 910196)

No facilities at the start or during the walk, although you could cheekily pop into the nearby Wetherspoons 100 yards down the road and pretend you're a breakfast diner😁.

Post walk refreshments in downtown Hednesford, maybe at Hednesford Ex-servicemen's Club, Wetherspoons, or elsewhere. We'll sort it out on the day.

From the A5/M6T/A34/A460 interchange at Churchbridge, Cannock (and avoiding Hednesford's generous speed bumps). Follow the signs for Hednesford and Rugeley A460. 4.5 miles and many islands later turn left immediately in front of Hill Top service station (Esso) and follow the road downhill for 400 yards to the crossroads and lights in Hednesford where straight on, still A460. At the next lights 200 yards later turn left, then left again at the small island before Tesco. At the T-junction turn left then immediately right into Anglesey Street and proceed for 150 yards where the car park is located on your right. Ignore the Poundstrecher supermarket car park on the same side beforehand.

From Rugeley. Pick up the A460 towards the town centre and at the island with the four miners statues turn off, direction Hednesford and Cannock via the A460. Follow the road for 4 miles to the first set of lights on the outskirts of Hednesford where straight over, to proceed for 0.5 mile to the second set of lights where right hand lane to turn right, then left at the small island before Tesco. At the T-junction turn left then immediately right into Anglesey Street and proceed for 150 yards where the car park is located on your right. Ignore the Poundstrecher supermarket car park on the same side beforehand.
