Today’s scenic walk will start in Henley-on-Thames and follow the River Thames to Bourne End via Marlow. Starting at Henley station, we’ll walk through Hill Meadow towards the Thames Footpath, which we follow to take us out of Henley via the road bridge. This’ll take us to Hambleden Lock, where we walk through Mill End we’ll follow Ferry Lane towards a cluster of houses, Harleyford Golf Club and a marina. After passing these, we’ll head into Marlow via Pergola Field where we’ll be stopping for lunch in Higginson Park. This’ll also be the drop out point for those who want to finish the walk early.
After lunch, we’ll head back towards the Thames, where we’ll continue walking it and parallel to the railway. This’ll take us along the Shakespeare's Way into Bourne End, where we pass a few of the sailing facilities that are based alongside the Thames. After some time, we should come to a railway bridge, which we’ll walk under before turning heading towards the finishing point at the station. For those who want a pint at the end of the walk, we’ll be stopping at The Walnut Tree, which is roughly a 5-minute walk from the station.
