Using the Peak Forest Canal and field paths to Hague Bar, along the River Goyt to west of New Mills, then the principal climb of 550 feet over 1.5 miles up to the disused quarry.  Then west to Parkgate bordering Lyme Park and another canal stretch back to cars.  Risk assessment: slippery and muddy after rain, two busy roads to cross, eight stiles and three flights of slippery steps.
