Side valleys and hills lead on to a ridge walk on Burledge Hill overlooking Chew Valley Lake. Views open up, of the Chew Valley , and (potentially) beyond to the Mendips , South Wales and Gloucestershire.
There are slopes to climb but also easier going in between. There's a good variety of lanes, footpaths, minor roads, woods and views.
There was plenty of mud and water, indeed water meadows, on my pre-walk on the 10th of November, after heavy overnight rain. We may expect more rain, although hopefully not so much, to come before the 15th, so come prepared. A stick is recommended and a good pair of walking boots. The paths were negotiable by side-stepping the wettest parts and my muddy boots were well washed! However, the route was successfully completed.
