Meet at 10.30 Lambeth North station (Bakerloo line). Join Mary for a three-mile linear stroll through the original Lambeth Palace gardens with its local history at your feet(!), into the grounds of St Thomas’s Hospital to discover a Crimean nursing hero. Then walk along the Thames Path to learn about a WWII hero and the Resistance Movement, see the old HQ of the London Fire Brigade, and on to Vauxhall Park. By popular request, we shall be revisiting a secret garden leading into Bonnington Square, a quirky little area and garden built on a former bomb site, finishing at Vauxhall Park (Vauxhall station (Victoria line), main line into Waterloo or south to Clapham Junction). Toilets at start and end of the walk, and refreshments at the end.
