Overview

Hello Everyone

Who fancies a walk around the Hoar Cross area this Sunday? That's our destination with walk leader Roy who has a pleasant nine miles worth lined up for us over reasonably flat terrain on a variety of surfaces heading out on an easterly loop before returning back to base. Approximately a dozen stiles en route.

By all means come along and join us, and, if this is your first time with our lot, let us know beforehand please. Thank you. If you've been before just turn up.

Registration: 09.30. Walk start: 09.45.

Post walk refreshments at a local hostelry TBA on the day. Usually very late in the day more often than not 😂😂. There's a walk to do first and foremost!

See you all on Sunday morning!

Directions. Primarily for our own members but good for anybody arriving via the A515 Lichfield to Sudbury road.

The start is located 10 miles north of Lichfield and a quarter of a mile off the A515 at Newchurch.

From Hednesford take the A460 to the Miners statue island in Rugeley where turn right and then follow the signs for the A513 via Armitage and Handsacre, then for Kings Bromley, still A513, to pick up the A515 at the T-junction just  south of Kings Bromley. Turn left here onto the A515 northbound.

Continue on the A515 for 5 miles through Kings Bromley and Yoxall then onwards to Newchurch. At the crossroads 300 yards after the Newchurch sign turn left in Brakenhurst Road, signed for Hoar Cross, and proceed for 400 yards to Jackson's Bank car park which is situated on your right hand side as the road descends towards the Meynell Ingram Arms crossroads at Hoar Cross.

Or alternatively via Abbots Bromley, out on the B5234 for one mile, then through the lanes signposted to Hoar Cross if you're familiar with this route.

Screenshots in the photos above to aid you. ⚠️Please note this is a popular car park so be prepared to block park if necessary, especially given our numbers just lately.
