Please join us for a moderate linear walk starting at Greenford Station - booking hall (note change). We go along and cross the Grand Union canal and go onto the wooded Horsenden Hill. There, we visit Brabsden Green deserted village, removed in 1970s, the Gruffalo Trail and the summit with great views over West London. We stop near the Ballot Pub for picnic lunch and a drink. In the afternoon we will go through the Greenford Beaver enclosure. We will see their handy work, but unlikely to see beavers. Then along the canal and down the Brent ending at Hanwell Elizabeth Line Station, seeing the majestic Hanwell viaduct on the way. Various opt outs available.
This is a joint walk with HFW Ramblers.
The first toilet on this walk is at Horsenden Farm 1 hour into walk
The toilet on Greenford station was long-term out of order when I did the recce .
I have tried to avoid the mud as far as possible, but not always successfully, so good shoes are essential and walking poles helpful.
The weather forecast is currently less then 40% change of drizzle at some point in the walk.
