We are the Gateshead Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

Starting from Housesteads car park we walk a clockwise circle, following a short stretch of the Wall and the Pennine Way. We rejoin the Wall near Sewingshields and from there back to the starting point.
CAR PARKING CHARGES:
It is £4 for the first 3 hours and £2 for every additional hour (or part thereof). Realistically it will cost at least £8 per car, possibly £10.
Car sharing is recommended if possible.
The charges also apply to Blue Badge holders, members of English Heritage and of National Trust.
It appears that only horses and donkeys can be tethered free of charge. See photo.
