SATURDAY 28 OCTOBER 2023 – 10.15 FOR 10.30 PROMPT START – NEW WALK - THE ILSLEYS - EAST & WEST ILSLEY CIRCULAR ROUTE INCLUDING THE RIDGEWAY
START POINT – Bury Down Car Park, West Ilsley, Wantage OX12 8QX. On Ridgeway at Bury Down on minor road from A34 to West Ilsley (signed Ridgeway from A34). Please note – there are two car parks. One either side of Bury Lane. Park in either. Walk heads off to the east.

There are 2 pubs en-route for toilets and quick drink. Bring Packed Lunch/snacks and water. Where appropriate gear. Poles useful as parts of the walk can be slippery when wet. There may be mud.
Please join me for this lovely 10 mile walk in the Chilterns around the Ilsleys.
This route lies within the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It includes a stretch of The Ridgeway along the scarp face of the Downs which gives tremendous views of the Thames Valley. The remainder of the route between the two Ilsley villages is classic rolling downland.
We will walk Mainly on downland tracks with just one section on a village road. This route is moderately strenuous for walkers but with no steep sections. 158m (518 feet) ascent and descent. No stiles or gates.
