Circular walk approx 7 miles.
The walk will follow the Ingleby Barwick Trail, making a circuit of Ingleby in a clockwise direction. There are sections of pavement, tarmac or gravel footpath, muddy paths and some duckboarding, which may be slippery. There is some ascent/descent but it isn't steep or prolonged.
After a short distance walking through the estate, we descend to walk beside the river Leven, following the river downstream towards the confluence with the Tees. Before the rivers meet we ascend towards the estate and some road/pavement walking takes us to a good path which we follow N around the edge of the houses. A short distance on tarmac takes us to Queen Elizabeth Bridge, where we pass under the road by the River Tees and then turn S and SE on good paths towards Thornaby. We cross Bassleton Beck and then walk on muddy paths alongside the Beck to re-enter the estate close to the start. A short distance on the pavement takes us back to the car park.
