Inverness Ramblers and Inverness Young Walkers are joining the Samaritans Dawn walk in support of the charity!
This is a 5K sunrise walk happening on Saturday 12th October.
We meet with other walkers at 6:30am at the far end of the B&M car park nearest the main road. We then walk the canal circuit at Clachnaharry with a short detour into the Merkinch Nature Reserve. Jammy Piece will open early for us so that we can have refreshments at the end of the walk. It is a flat, easy walk which should allow for most to be able to take part.
If you are interested in joining and/or donate towards the charity then you are welcome to contribute on the day, or the walk leader can provide links to a Justgiving page.
Please sign up by contacting the walk leader per email.
From the Samaritans:
The Samaritans help make sure there’s someone there for anyone who needs someone. This year, it's not just a walk; it's a celebration of World Mental Health Day, in solidarity with those struggling to cope.
Your donation means a lot, just a few pounds could help to answer calls for help that could save someone's life. Please see more information below about Samaritans life-saving work. Thank you 💚
Every ten seconds, Samaritans answer a call for help. We’re here, day or night, for anyone who’s struggling to cope, who needs someone to listen without judgement or pressure. Samaritans is not only for the moment of crisis, we’re taking action to prevent the crisis. We give people ways to cope and the skills to be there for others. Every life lost to suicide is a tragedy, and Samaritans’ vision is that fewer people die by suicide. That’s why we work tirelessly to reach more people and make suicide prevention a priority.
