Overview

The walk is mainly on footpaths. From the station the walk goes through the Station Art Park before turning on to Irlam Moss. After a short walk along the moss road it heads into Prince’s Park (refreshments/ toilet stop). From the park the path follows the old course of the River Irwell and then heads towards the Manchester Ship Canal before entering the Linear Park which ends back at Irlam Station.

Terrain is mostly flat with some steps. Potential hazards are tree roots, may be muddy/slippery in places. Care should be taken when crossing roads
