Overview

From the Itchen Abbas village hall heading south along the Itchen Way towards Avington, then south westerly towards No Man's land and onto Magdalen Hill Down. Joining the SDW we head into Winchester. The return takes us onto the Three Castles Path, north towards Easton, Martyr Worthy and Chilland.

The walk is reasonably, with the exception of the climb onto Magdalen Hill Down. Following the Itchen through Winchester there is a good opportunity to see a lot of bird life.  There are number of well known routes; the Itchen, Allan King, South Downs Ways and the Three Castles Path.  There will be a coffee break followed by a longer lunch stop in Winchester.

A minimum donation of £2.00 per car is requested for the Hall maintenance fund.

The entrance to the Itchen Abbas village hall car park is located just passed the junction of Station Hill and Northing Road off the B3047.
