Overview

Inverness Young Walkers (Sub Group)

Walk along the elevated hamlets that are the Heights of Dingwall, coinciding with a public open day at Castle Leod. After a short steep climb from Dingwall, a leisurely stroll along the high country lane with spectacular views of the ice cut Peffery valley. Short stop at monument dedicated to 19th century novelist Neil Gunn. Options to go into castle/grounds, dropping down into Strathpeffer. Alternatively refreshments at the old station in Strathpeffer. Bus back to Dingwall (bus continues to Inverness).
More info on Castle Leod admission at www.castleleod.org.uk/
