Inverness Young Walkers (Sub Group)
Walk along the elevated hamlets that are the Heights of Dingwall, coinciding with a public open day at Castle Leod. After a short steep climb from Dingwall, a leisurely stroll along the high country lane with spectacular views of the ice cut Peffery valley. Short stop at monument dedicated to 19th century novelist Neil Gunn. Options to go into castle/grounds, dropping down into Strathpeffer. Alternatively refreshments at the old station in Strathpeffer. Bus back to Dingwall (bus continues to Inverness).

- Ramblers Scotland Membership Card (if you're a member)
- Walking shoes/ boots
- Extra layer, suncream, hat, sunglasses (we're being optimistic)
- Plenty water
- Picnic lunch
- Money for Caste admission (if of interest)
- Money for return bus (£2.80)
Please arrive promptly so we have enough time to tour the castle after the walk if you wish, and get the bus back - which you will want to do unless you fancy a night with the McKenzie clan!

Terrain - Walk follows quiet country lanes, comfy walking shoes or good trainers recommended, beware of steep climb at beginning out of Dingwall and descent into Strathpeffer.
Toilets - Can be found at the main town centre car park in Dingwall. Please visit before making your way to the walk start. Toilets are also available in Strathpeffer.
