We have been invited to join other Ramblers groups for lunch (and possibly cake!) at Jarn Mound to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Oxford Jubilee Walk. Our group walk starts at Radley station and will pass through Sunningwell and Boars Hill, with extensive views across to the Berkshire Downs. In the afternoon we take in Chilswell Farm for the best view of Oxford’s “dreaming spires”. We then pass through the villages of Bayworth and Kennington on our return to Radley. This walk uses field and woodland paths, there is also some walking on quiet tarmac lanes.
Please join the group at the approach to Radley station by 9.45, we will leave promptly at 10.00. There is car parking at the station (approx. £2.60) by pay and display (card only) or APCOA Connect parking app. If you decide to pay by the app it may be helpful to download and set this up in advance as it is quite time-consuming.
Please allow enough time to sort out your parking payment before the walk.
The walk is accessible by train to Radley or no 35 bus.
Please bring plenty of water (at least 1 litre), your lunch and snacks.
Well-behaved dogs are permitted and must be on the lead at all times.
