Overview

A chance to follow this scenic waymarked Scottish Borders route from Peebles to Broughton named after the writer John Buchan who had many connections with the area.  The route follows mostly good hill tracks through remote Peeblesshire hill country with three main climbs totalling 2600’ and only crosses one main road at Stobo Castle.

Private minibus transfer at start of walk from Broughton to Peebles (payable – approx. cost £12-£15 per person).

Strenuous – three main climbs, none severe and good going underfoot but nevertheless long stretches through remote country.  No opportunity to replenish supplies en route.

Refreshments and toilets at start and finish of walk, none en route.
