Overview

Tiger Bay Ramblers welcomes everyone on its walks and in January 2026 we celebrate the first anniversary of our new walking and hiking group for people in their 20s-30s based in South Wales.  If you are under 40 years of age and looking to have fun, get fit, and meet a welcoming bunch of people, then this will be the ideal group for you!

This will be a joint walk with Cardiff Metropolitan University Rambling and Hiking Group, our 20s-30s group and our main TBR group; everyone is welcome!

We will meet in the car park at Fields Park Road and head across Pontcanna Fields along the River Taff through Llandaff Meadows to Llandaff Cathedral.  Ascending The Deans Steps to the Llandaff war memorial and Cathedral Green, we will pause for a short break in the gardens of the Old Bishop's Palace before returning through Llandaff Fields past our start point and on through Sophia Gardens to the Castle.  We will loop round Bute Park, up to the Blackweir bridge and across Pontcanna Fields once more back to our starting point and the end of the walk.

The walk will take place on pavements and paths which may be wet and muddy in places. Attendee's should come prepared for the weather on the day, and may wish to bring drink and snacks for rest breaks during the walk.

This is a 'figure of eight' walk which will provide an opportunity to leave the walk early after completing the first 'figure of eight' loop.  Well behaved dogs are welcome to join the walk but must remain under the control of their owners at all times; the walk will cross the busy A48 main road.

If you are interested in joining our 20s-30s group for younger people but are not available to join this walk, please contact secretary@tigerbayramblers.org.uk to register your interest.

Potential members of any age are welcome to attend any three walks with Tiger Bay Ramblers before deciding if they would like to join.
