Overview

We walk through rolling countryside through a mixture of woodland and open spaces, passing farms and Manor Houses on our way to Cowden for our lunch stop. (Pub for drinks, likely to be too busy for lunch on a Sunday, so bring a picnic.) We return to our start point by a shorter route, setting off along the Sussex Border Path as we leave Cowden. No steep inclines, but not much flat ground either. A few stiles and the possibility of encountering horses, as much of the walk follows bridleways.

Meet on the green at Marsh Green near the children’s play area. Please don’t park immediately in front of the church; some of the parishioners are less steady on their legs than we are and need to be dropped off close by. There is usually plenty of room to park on the road that loops off the B2028 Marsh Green Road around the green.
