From the car park at Andrews Wood, we cross the M25 and walk though Pilot's Wood. Then after re-crossing the motorway we make our way to Minny Wood, past Chevening House and eventually joining the North Downs Way for lunch at Knockholt. About 5¾ miles and 640 feet/190m of ascent.
After lunch, we go down a quiet lane through Stubbs Hill before turning east through Halstead and back to the car park. About 3¾ miles and 150 feet/45m of ascent.
The walk takes in some of the North Downs and crosses the Chevening estate, the country house of the Foreign Secretary. The first three-quarters of a mile runs parallel to the always-audible M25 and, if wet, may be muddy and slippery. The morning stop at Minny Wood offers an amazing view.
Lunch at Knockholt can be either at the Three Horseshoes pub or on the small green in the cente of the village.
Thanks to Jeff West whose very similar walk a few Sundays ago has been shamelessly copied.
