This is a moderately strenuous walk. There is one big steep uphill near the end (Flowers Barrow), and a long but less steep uphill on the way back from Kimmeridge Bay. Expect fantastic seaviews along one of the most picturesque sections of the South West Coast Path (weather permitting), as well as the historic abandoned village of Tyneham.
We start from the Whiteways View car park, first following the road side path to Creech View car park, then along the ridge past Grand Arch for a couple of miles before dropping down to Kimmeridge village. From there it's down to Kimmeridge Bay, and for those that wish, we can walk up to the Clavell Tower. After lunch we follow the SWCP Westwards, with the option to take a short detour to enjoy the views from the top of Tynham Cap, before dropping down into Tyneham village for a look around.
From Tyneham we walk to Tyneham beach (Worbarrow bay) before the final sting in the tail - the steep ascent of Flowers barrow. From the top of Flowers Barrow we follow the higher ridge back to the car park. There is the option of a less steep and easier route taking the path from Tyneham directly to the ridge top. This avoids the steep ascent of Flowers Barrow and is a couple of miles shorter.
Depending on the weather and progress on the day, we have the option of taking lunch at either Kimmeridge Bay, Tyneham Cap or in Tyneham village.
