Starting at Kingsclere Fieldgate Centre, where parking should be possible, the walk passess through part of the village before heading into open countryside and onto the downs. Hannington village will be reached after @75 mins where there will be a break. Return will be via Cottington Hill and the Park House stable gallops.
The walk is largely through open country side except for Cottington Hill. Mud must be expected but the worst hopefully confined to a few areas as walk is largely on open chalk land. Good views provided visibility allows. The walk includes an ascent/descent of Cottington Hill.
Toilets available at start/end.
Coffee shop available at end in Kingsclere.
Fieldgate Sport centre on the SW side of Kingsclere. Football can limit spaces available on Saturdays.
