We are the Rutland Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
From the Abbey we head up the hill south of the Abbey then along the ridge and down to Leighfield Lodge then up to Leighfield farm and along the second ridge before coming back down into the valley and returning to Launde Abbey around 2:30PM in time for the Rutland Rambler`s AGM at 3:00PM (not forgetting the tea and cakes).
No stiles, and the only muddy bit was the slope a couple of fields away from the finish.
Registered assistance dogs welcome but all other dogs are discouraged due to the probability of grazing animals in some fields.
Please make sure you're fit enough and have the right footwear and clothing for the walk. Walking poles would be an advantage in some places.
Please consider car sharing arrangements with other members to reduce the pressure on parking spots at the start of the walk.
In the event of severe weather, please contact the leader on the morning to check the walk is still on.
Please note that using this post code in a car sat nav may put you near Thorndyke Oak farm. Launde Abbey is slightly further north along the road from Loddington Please Park on grass under trees just outside main entrance to Abbey.
