If you’ve not walked with us before, please contact the walk leader for further information. General descriptions of our walks and what to expect are shown on our website optional.
This is a 4 mile walk around Watermead Park. We will need to walk 1/2 a mile on the pavement by a road to get there and the same back to the pub. There is a field path to the park but it's very overgrown and not for us! Once on Watermead Park we will walk along the canal towpath then join the paths around King Lear, Finger and John Merrick Lakes. Hopefully we will pop into the Reed Bed Nature Reserve- This isn't always open but should be on the Tuesday we walk. There have been 200 different species of birds recorded and I'll have my binoculars in case any of them are around during our walk. There are also stouts, weasels, shrews, foxes, voles, mice, stoats and otters. It should be a lovely walk- no stiles, no livestock- good walking, flat, paths. Toilets at 1 mile and 3 miles. We will stop for a tea/coffee half way round. Hope you can join me.
