Walking in and around Leicester
Welcome to the Leicester and District Ramblers. We are an active group with a large programme offering a variety of walks to suit all levels of walkers, including half-day and all day walks all year round, short evening walks in the summer, and all day walks further afield. We also offer a "car free" programme using public transport to either get you to the start or return home.
We walk all over Leicestershire and sometimes cross over the borders into neighbouring counties. You’ll get a warm welcome from our group whatever your age or experience.

Walking with us is a great way to explore Leicestershire including the historic geology and woodland of Charnwood Forest, the reclaimed former mining area which is now part of the National Forest, and historical sites including iron age forts and the Battle of Bosworth as well as many pretty villages, canals, rivers and abandoned railways.
So, if you’ve ever wondered where that footpath sign leads to, why not join us for a walk?
We prepare our programme twice a year and you can click on Find a Walk below to find walks to suit you by using the filter facility to choose day, length, category etc.
