This walk is for up to 20 people, including the leader.
An urban walk with a few very slight hills, passing some of the locations used for Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright's film "The World's End", which reaches its 10 year anniversary this year. This will coincide with an optional social event at Letchworth's Broadway Cinema (screening time: 8pm), to see a screening of the film. Please ensure you book your ticket ASAP to avoid disappointment. You are also advised to avoid bringing large bags into the cinema. It is also recommended that you eat before coming on the walk, as there may not be ample time to get food between the walk and social. Book up at the link here; please note that I have chosen Seat 5 in Row C, if you are able to book in adjacent/nearby seats: Cornetto Trilogy - Broadway Cinema & Theatre (broadway-letchworth.com)
The film is 1 hour and 49 minutes long, but please bear in mind that it probably won't start at the advertised time, so expect to be out of the cinema by 10:30pm, latest.
We will begin in Letchworth town centre, and follow Broadway, one of Letchworth's tree-lined streets, to the UK's first roundabout, which may be a good photo opportunity, before returning to the town centre, taking a deviation past the bowls club.
We will then head back through the town centre, passing the station and joining the Icknield Way footpath, where we will pass Icknield Way Cemetery, where the town's founder Ebenezer Howard is buried, and where we will get some good views of The Wilbury Pub, used as "The World's End" in the film.
We will then turn back on ourselves and join the Greenway, passing through "Tin Town", named after its prefab buildings, constructed in haste to solve housing shortages, before crossing the railway line, and returning to the town centre.
After the walk, we should have time for a quick drink before going to the cinema.
Please note that if attending the cinema, please do not bring a dog, unless it is an assistance dog.

Please:
DO NOT book onto a walk unless you are pretty sure you will be able to make it.
UPDATE YOUR RSVP. We understand ‘life happens’ so if you need to change your RSVP please do this at least 24 hours before the walk and before booking closes to enable someone else to take your place.
DON’T NO-SHOW on the day unless it is absolutely unavoidable (we do understand ‘life happens’) because it prevents others from enjoying a walk if it is fully booked.
*TAKE NOTE that if you no-show and/or cancel after the booking closing deadline three times, without extenuating circumstances, we will decline further bookings from you for a period of six weeks.*
Bring a snacks and drinks, appropriate clothing for the conditions and optionally a basic first aid kit & hand sanitiser.
