Overview

This walk follows the " Limestone Way " trail devised by Dudley council and returns along other paths. It climbs 4 of the 5 Limestone Hills,  Wrens Nest, Mons Hill, Hurst Hill and Beacon Hill and skirts the base of Castle Hill. This area is internationally famous for its Silurian limestone fossils collections of which can be found in museums throughout the world. It is also the birthplace of Abraham Darby ( the first ) who revolutionised iron making and started the Industrial Revolution.
