Overview

A scenic rail journey with a linear walk mostly along Wales Coast Path from Penychain to Cricieth.  The route from Penychain Station proceeds along a road before crossing through the Hafan y Mor Holiday complex to reach the Coast path in about 1 1/4 miles. About 1 mile later instead of following coast path inland our route continues along the beach for 2.8 miles before turning inland in order to cross the Afon Dwyfor on the A497 road.  Having re-joined the Wales Coast earlier we then follow it all the way to Cricieth.  Near Llanystumdwy it leaves the A497 to reach the mouth of the Afon Dwyfor & thence along the coast to Cricieth.
