We are the Scarborough and District Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Join us for a very pleasant linear walk with more descent than ascent! We’ll catch the 840 bus at 09:41 from Thornton le Dale alighting at the Hole of Horcum. We’ll start the walk along The Old Wife’s Way to the Bridestones for a coffee stop with a view (see photo attached). Along Staindale into Dalby Forest to the Visitor Centre where we shall stop for lunch. After lunch we’ll continue through Little Dale to Ellerburn back to Thornton le Dale.
There are a few tree roots along the way and some areas with shoulder high bracken.

Park in the public car park in Thornton le Dale (fee £6 for the day) then meet at 9.30 am at the bus stop in Thornton le Dale to catch number 840 Coastliner bus and alight at the Hole of Horcum
We shall alight the 840 bus at the Hole of Horcum at 10 am to start the walk.
We walk back to Thornton le Dale.
