An undulating circular walk offering fine views of the Yorkshire Wolds. Sections of our route will follow the Chalkland Way and Yorkshire Wolds Way.
Heading north east out of Huggate Village we enter Cow Dale before turning north towards Horse Dale. Here we turn west and using open access land to continue towards Waterman's Hole where we join Frendal Dale. A long but very pleasant path south through woodland and pasture followed by a short uphill section to Jessop's Plantation.
Onwards is east across Pasture Dale open access land and along field edge paths towards Glebe Farm and finally a short uphill section to Huggate.
Making use of field edge paths, pasture land and open access, conditions underfoot are generally good - no stiles. Road walking is minimal. There are a few ascents.
Cattle could be present in areas of open access and pasture land
Parking is at Huggate Village car park on Driffield Road [approx 200 metres east of The Wolds Inn]. Voluntary parking donation welcome.
