From Taicynhaeaf bus stop in the Mawddach valley (SH 690192)where we arrive about 1113 AM the steepish tarmac lane leads up through the village & wooded areas alongside the Afon Cwm Mynach then a right turn ascends up to eventually reach the West end of the New Precipice walk at Foel Ispri Uchaf. A flat very scenic stretch with Cadair Idris opposite & the Mawddach valley below is followed by a descent through woodland which steepens somewhat just after Llyn Tan y graig reservoir. Llanelltyd village is reached before the route crosses the A470 & across the Afon Mawddach using the old stone bridge. Then lanes & paths ascend to above Dolgellau & a final descent on minor roads brings one into Dolgellau. Goodies can be taken in TH Roberts or other cafes here before the bus leaves.
The initial T2 bus leaves Aberystwyth bus station stand 4 at 0935 arr Dolgellau at 1055. The connecting T3 service leaves at 1103 for the 10 min journey to the walk start. The T2 return bus leaves Dolgellau at 1502. Walking poles recommended. PLEASE CONTACT THE LEADERS TO BOOK A PLACE AS LIMITED NUMBERS.
