A linear walk from Wrabness to Manningtree with return by train. The walk will start with a circuit of the nature reserve and then pass by Grayson Perry's House for Essex. We then return to walk along the Stour Estuary before heading inland to a lunch stop at Bradfield. After lunch the walk returns to the river near Mistley Towers and continues through the town of Manningtree to the station.
Park at Wrabness Station (£3.70 parking fee) and return by train from Manningtree after the walk (approx. £3 fare with railcard/groupsave)
Packed lunch is required as the pub does not serve food but has kindly agreed that we may eat our sandwiches there if buying a drink.
Alternative travel arrangements are possible:-
1. Park at Manningtree and take train to Wrabness before the walk. This will require an earlier arrival as train leaves Manningtree at 09:29 arriving Wrabness 09:38
2. Car share from Galleywood Common car park off B1007. Please meet at 08:40 if you need a lift or can offer a lift to others.
3. Train from Shenfield (approx. £19 return). Please check the feasibility of this option a few days beforehand as a rail replacement bus is often in place between Shenfield and Colchester, Making the journey time impractical.
