We are the Gateshead Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

A 9¼ mile walk across fields, paths and disused railways. Due to the recent rainfall there are several muddy stretches (as is to be expected) so good boots a must and gaiters are recommended. A relatively flat walk. Several stiles, all in good condition.
Starting from the small carpark behind the village green (next to the playground*) we walk in a northerly direction towards East Rainton, skirting High Moorsley. From E Rainton we turn and walk in a southerly direction through High Pittington towards Sherburn. Just before Sherburn we turn north east and back to Littletown.
A very nice farmshop with coffeeshop nearby for post walk cool-down. The Date and Walnut cake was excellent
*If you ask nicely then Jan might give you a push on the swings after the walk.
