A splendid walk along paths, bridleways and quiet country lanes skirting Lizard Wood.
Starting from the lovely old market town of Shifnal, we walk through town before heading across country with wide open views of the surrounding countryside. We follow leafy lanes to reach the privately owned Lizard Wood, before joining the Monarch's Way back towards Shifnal, offering lovely views of The Wekin and Lizard Wood. We cross Bonemill Bridge, continuing on the Monarch's Way, returning to Shifnal on the other side of town.
An easy to moderate walk taken at a leisurely pace.
Shifnal has parking and a range of shops. Cafes are unlikely to be open on our return but there are a variety of pubs in town.
Toilets are available at the start of the walk and the end but none en route.
Stiles no steps
Some sections may be muddy and some sections may be overgrown at this time of year, so good boots and you may like to bring poles.
Please bring snacks, drinks and a packed lunch as this is a full day walk.
