Our walk starts within a stone’s throw of Cors Y Gedol Hall. A sixteenth century mansion built by Richard Vaughn. We follow the track leading to Bodlyn Reservoir turning right on a footpath to Pont Scethin, an ancient one arched bridge over Afon Ysgethin. We then begin our ascent to the Llawlech ridge. On reaching the pass between Diffwys and Llawlech we turn right to follow the ridge as it meanders towards Bwlch y Rhiwgr (Pass of the Horns). It is said that highwaymen’s lookouts would sound their horns once unwary travellers had passed by. We then descend a track that has been badly damaged due to its use by off road motorbikes. The path is very uneven and caution will be needed to negotiate it. Once past this stretch of path we walk beside dry stone walls to reach Pont Fadog. From there we have a small ascent to pass Llety Lloegr, the boarding house of the English, which served drovers as they made their way to and from the Lyn Peninsula. Not far from the house is a Neolithic burial chamber on the left. A short distance from this we reach the car park.
