We meet in Tonfanau to catch the train to Llwyngwril and then walk back, following the Coastal Path for much of the way. We climb quite steeply out of Llwyngwril, reaching a height of some 170 metres, with lovely views across Cardigan Bay. Our route stays quite high on the hillside, though with a few ups and downs along the way. Just before its final descent, we leave the Coastal Path and head for the hill known as “The Beacon”, climbing up to its 178 metre top before descending back down to Tonfanau.
Group grade C+
NB Meeting and starting times are approximate and will depend on when the trains run. Details will be updated larter.
Those travelling from the north may choose to take a train direct to Llwyngwril to await the arrival of the group there, and then return home by train from Tonfanau after the walk.
