Overview

A moderate undulating walk with a total ascent of approximately 1350’. Heading W out of West Hoathly towards Chiddinglye before turning south and soon joining the HWLT for a while before continuing to Ardingly and our first stop at the Recreation Ground. Turning E from Ardingly we make our way to Horstead Keynes where we stop for lunch in the church grounds with just under 7 miles completed. Re-fuelled we walk in a general N direction eventually turning E to pick up the Sussex Border Path and a return to our start at West Hoathly.

Some quiet lane/road walking in places. Some paths are a bit rough underfoot and minimal mud on the day of the recce. Just 4 stiles and paths quite overgrown in places, and one narrow bridge, without handrails, to negotiate, care required (approx. 20 metres long). Poles recommended.
