Overview

This walk starts from the National Trust Car Park at the Longshaws Estate (above Hathersage) and follows good paths across the moor, passing the Carls Wark hill fort and Higgar Tor to exit the Burbage Valley at Upper Burbage Bridge. Moving along the top of Stanage Edge to visit Robin Hoods Cave then crossing the moor again at the Causeway passing Stanedge Pole and following moorland footpaths to the Lady Canes Plantation, then dropping down via the Houndkirk Road back to the middle of Burbage Edge (Burbage South climbing area) to follow the valley path back to our start point.   Assistance dogs only.
