Overview

On this walk, we will be skirting Pulpit Hill and Beacon Hill before making a steep ascent to the top of Coombe Hill.  On our way we will pass through Grangelands and Pulpit Hill Nature Reserve, see the imposing Coombe Hill Monument to the Boer War and catch glimpses of Chequers, the Prime Minister's country residence.  We'll pass through fields and varied woodland, follow the Ridgeway and the Icknield Way. Yes, it is hilly (total ascent 947ft) but you will be rewarded with spectacular, far-reaching views over the Aylesbury plain.
