From Stowfield we meander along the banks of the Wye before entering a difficult wooded area where the path is obstructed by many fallen trees and scrub. Once out of the wood we climb over Huntsman Hill and back to the Wye, past the Saracens head pub before taking a small track up a steep incline with many boulders and rocks to negotiate. Once on the ridge line we gently descend back towards the Wye.
Due to distance, wooded obstructions on the path and one significant climb that verges on a scrabble this walk is considered moderate +.
Bring a packed lunch.
Stowfield Road car parking, Lower Lydbrook, From the T junction on the B4234 by the river at Lower Lydbrook take the road towards English Bicknor, and the parking is on the left after 0.5 miles.
