A circular, half day 5.5 mile morning walk from the centre of Market Drayton, a historic old Shropshire town. Leaving the town, we join the Shropshire Union Canal for about 1 kilometre as far as Tyrley Locks, where we leave the canal. We continue along quiet lanes, tracks and field paths, and finally walk along a short distance of road as we return to the starting point. The walk is mainly level, but there are a couple of relatively easy gradients. The final walk back into town is a short steep climb.
Please bring a snack and drink for a mid morning short break. There is no packed lunch stop but you can bring a packed lunch to eat at the end of the walk or visit one of the many cafes and hostelries available for anyone who wants tea/ cakes / light bites etc at the end of the walk. There are toilets available at the start of the walk. Please let the leader know if you wish to request a car share. Dogs on leads are welcome with the prior permission of the leader. Car parking charges apply. Was 40p per hour, but Shropshire County Council are currently reviewing some of their car parking charges.

Most sat nav postcode car park locations are same as the nearest supermarkets TF9 3AA, others give TF9 3GN.
