Starting from Wellow Church, we follow a rat-run of a lane to the local trekking centre and the Railway Path through to Midford. DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THIS PERMISSIVE PATH. A stretch of the long disused Somerset Coal Canal brings the walk to a steep and stony bridleway (which can resemble a stream bed!) that climbs uphill to Twinhoe. Quiet lanes and a steep descent with views brings the walk back to Wellow Church. Good views, industrial history and potentially slippery slopes on the final descent to Wellow following rain This walk is easy with one strenuous ascent. Bring snack.
