A leisurely, fairly easy walk from the centre of Frome through both older and newer parts of the town and then across three fields (may contain cattle) to Rodden church. Returning via Styles Hill and the riverside path through Rodden Meadow, back to the town centre. A final one mile long, flat loop via West End can be omitted if desired or in the event of inclement weather. Several busy roads to be crossed (B3090, A3098, A362). No stiles, four kissing gates, two cattle grids with overgrown pedestrian gateways, one steep hill right at the start (Zion Path, avoidable if you just can’t face it!). Mostly paved paths and pavements. Walking shoes should be sufficient unless there has been heavy rain in the preceding days and weeks. Bring snack and a drink, especially if weather is hot. Lots of cafes in Frome, e.g. Cheese and Grain, River House at Black Swan etc.
