Please join us for our traditional Midwinter Solstice walk with a sharing picnic. This is a circular walk through Epping Forest to High Beach Visitors Centre, where we will have our picnic and mulled wine to celebrate the shortest day of the year and so the start of longer days. Bring festive food for sharing. Likely to be wet/muddy underfoot in places. Possibility for non walkers to meet the group at High Beach for the picnic. The walkers should arrive at approx 12.30.
*If coming by car, you can park in the Chingford Golf Course CP or the Chingford Plain CP - these are next to each other and both have a fee. Meet by the entrance to the Golf Course CP - which is the first and nearest to the Station. Lift sharing possible. Let leader know if coming by train. Can get Victoria line to Walthamstow Central, then Weaver Line to Chingford.
By train - meet at the front of Chingford Station OR By Car - Golf Course CP. If this is full continue to Chingford Plain CP and walk back to meet at Golf Course CP as described above.
