We are the Welshpool Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

The walk starts from Blinkin Mawr our house on the Pentre Road above Mochdre. To access our house go through the gate and across the yard. Our house is unconventionally semi-detached ... in that it is behind the rather than next to its other half!
Our walk follows the road up towards Pentre where we branch off onto a farm road that takes us to a bridge where we cross Mochdre Brook. After that the route follows the brook before we reach bottom of a fairly steep path up Yr Alt. At this point there is an option for walkers to choose either to climb up this path (good views from the top if the weather is clear!) or to follow a less challenging path. This is an area Jessica and I both know well so walkers can choose which route they prefer.
At the end of the walk you'll be welcome to join us for pre-Christmas mince pies, etc.
IMPORTANT NOTES: PARKING SPACE AT THE START POINT IS VERY LIMITED

Jessica or I will also be happy to collect people and to return them to their cars after the walk.
Parking location for car sharing and/or collection by us before the walk :- After leaving the main road by at the roundabout outside the Newtown College take 2nd exit from the next roundabout. Then turn right into the industrial area. On a Sunday there is usually plenty of space to park and you can either car share with other walkers or call us to ask for a lift up the hill to our home.
