Overview

Join John in the relatively wild Charnwood Forest Geopark in Leicestershire, bordering an ancient volcano.  We pass a reservoir noted for its flora (and whose dam failed in 1799 but mercifully not subsequently) and walk through a nature reserve, up ancient hills to reach the highest point in Leicestershire.

At the end of the walk, the possibility of visiting St Joseph's tea-room (though it is not large enough for a big group!).
