A walk along the Neath Canal to Neath Abbey.
We then will go past old iron works and under the Brunel Railway Viaduct.
From there we follow a wooded valley where we will view two waterfalls.
We then begin a steep ascent, including the many steps to the top of Mynydd Drumau.
At the top we will have panoramic views over the area and will visit an ancient landmark of the area, Careg Bica, a tall standing Stone.
Social after walk:
Afterwards, we will go for refreshments to Wetherspoons.
Directions: Follow A465 and A474 into Neath.
Take first left off roundabout into Windsor Road.
Continue straight along this road past Wetherspoons and railway station.
Follow the left-hand bend in The Parade to lights.
Take left under the railway bridge to pass Zoar’s Ark
Turn left onto Quay Street before footbridge.
Drive straight to enter car park.
