Overview

Professor Jeff Duckett will lead a gentle, easy pace walk down the Grand Union Canal past Stockers Lake and the only chalk pit in Middlesex, exploring the rich plant diversity. Jeff is an Emeritus Professor of Botany and recipient of the 2008 Linnean Society Medal for Botany. He works as a Research Associate at the Natural History Museum and has over 50 years’ experience of London’s vegetation.

Food: Please bring a picnic as facilities are limited.

Café and toilets available at Bury Lake, near the start of the walk, and in Rickmansworth.

Travel: Metropolitan line train from King's Cross at 09:43, calling at Baker Street at 9:49 OR Chiltern Railways train from Marylebone at 09:56.  Use Oyster/contactless/Freedom Pass.
