Overview

A varied circular walk in the New Forest starting from Whitefield Moor. Tranquil streams at Ober Water and Bolderford Bridge. Ancient trees and shady woodland glades in Gritnam and Brinken Wood. Lunch at Blackwater Arboretum with its enormous redwoods and Douglas Firs on the Tall Trees trail. Returning to Whitefield Moor across classic New Forest open heathland and bog. Due to the walk crossing several streams (with foot bridges) and bog areas with raised walkways the walk may very well be wet underfoot if following a period of heavy or persistent rain. Two short sections of minor road walking. OS map OL22.
